About Smart Postgres

Smart Postgres is a project of Brent Ozar. That’s me, the guy over there.

I got started with Microsoft SQL Server since the late 1990s (and worse databases before that, like Access and Clarion.) I built the popular BrentOzar.com resources site, the open source First Responder Kit diagnostic scripts, spoke at conferences around the world, and sold millions of dollars of training classes. I’ve consulted at clients including StackOverflow.com, Google, Cisco, and a bunch of other companies whose products you use every day.

In 2017, I fell in love with Postgres (specifically, AWS Aurora PostgreSQL) and decided to use it as the back end for a new cloud-based monitoring tool I was building. At Smart Postgres, I share my favorite resources, techniques, and tips.

When I’m not working with databases, I shares my passions for travel adventures, collecting vintage sports cars, and life in Las Vegas on my Instagram and my personal blog.
