Announcing the Box of Tricks v0.1 with check_indexes and drop_indexes

Say hello to the first official release of the SmartPostgres Box of Tricks!

First up is check_indexes, a script that lists things like index types, definitions, sizes, last vacuum dates, dead tuples, and more. The warnings columns will also tell you if autovacuum isn’t keeping up, statistics are way out of date, and more:

Next up is drop_indexes, which I suspect won’t be nearly as useful for y’all, hahaha. It’s for my training class students so they can reset their copy of the Stack Overflow database before working through the next exercise, solving different query and indexing problems.

You can get it as part of my free SmartPostgres membership, or download it from the Github repo.
